Music/Dance Workshop
November 6, 7, 8 and 9, 2013

Once again, the nationally known Young Americans National Music Outreach Tour will be making a special stop in Niles to bring music and dance to the community featuring our young people and the Young Americans. In the past, over 300 area youth, grades 3-12, have participated in this fun-filled, intense three-day workshop. This year students will be performing in TWO evening shows on November 8th and 9th in the Niles High School auditorium. Tickets will be sold during workshop hours and at the door before performances:  Adults, $10.00 each; Students, $8.00 each.
The workshop will include:
· Young Americans Demonstration Performances
· Educational Classes in the areas of auditioning, vocal technique, stage movement, sound and recording
  techniques, musical tater and dance.
· Solo Competition (not mandatory)
· Comprehensive Evaluation (not mandatory)
· Two LIVE performances featuring all workshop participants:
The Young Americans will perform the first act; the full company will perform the second act. You will be performing side by side with the Young Americans.
The workshop will follow the schedule below:
· Wednesday, November 6:
     3:30 p.m. Registration outside NHS auditorium
     4:00 p.m. Workshop Begins
     6:00 – 7:00 p.m. Dinner hour
     7:00 – 9:00 p.m. Workshop in session
     9:20 p.m. Host Families meet Young Americans
· Thursday, November 7:
     7:45 a.m. Check-In
     8:00 a.m. Workshop Begins
     12:00 – 1:00 p.m. Lunch Break
     6:00 p.m. Workshop Ends
· Friday, November 8:
     2:00 p.m. Dress Rehearsal
     4:00 p.m. DINNER ON YOUR OWN
     6:30 p.m. Doors Open – Tickets on sale
     7:00 p.m. SHOWTIME!
· Saturday, November 9:
     6:30 p.m. Doors Open – Tickets on sale
     7:00 p.m. SHOWTIME!
Students will need to bring a sack lunch for dinner ON WEDNESDAY, lunch ON THURSDAY or make a purchase at the school concession stand, which will be open during the workshop hours. All concession proceeds will benefit the NHS Counterpoints and Ring Lardner Voices. During the workshop, students should wear comfortable shoes and clothing for dance and movement.
