Girls on the Run is a life-changing, experiential learning program for 3rd through 8th grade girls (at Ballard 3rd-5th graders). The program combines training for a Girls on the Run 5K Community Celebration with self-esteem enhancing, uplifting workouts. The goals of the program are to encourage positive emotional, social, mental, and physical development. The 10-week program begins the week of February 27, 2017 and ends with a 5
K celebration fun run on May 18, 2017 (more information to come for students who are participating). Teams will meet on Tuesdays/Thursdays from 3:50 to 5:00 at Ballard.
Lessons are designed to lead the girls toward: wise health choices,
positive body image and self-esteem, positive emotional and social
development, improved eating and exercise attitudes, and acceptance of
themselves and their peers.
