The food service program at Ring Lardner is more extensive than our elementary level program. Students at Ring Lardner have far more choices available to them on a daily basis. Many of these differences are outlined in the info below.Free and Reduced application process
Free and reduced applications are no different than those used in our elementary schools. The school district will be mailing these applications to all students in August before school begins. Contact information will be included with the applications if you have any questions on how to correctly fill these out. Applications must be filled out every year regardless if you have been approved in the past. We encourage everyone to fill out these applications and return them to school as soon as possible. This year, you can access www.Lunchapp.com and do the application online. If done online, you will not need to fill out a paper application.Lunch Prices
We have a tiered pricing structure for our lunch program. We have stations that are individually priced. They include:
The Sizzle Station included traditional lunch entrees such as Macaroni and Cheese and other home style menu offerings. The price for this station is $2.35 and is available to all students including those that qualify for the free or reduced lunch program.
The Bake Station includes Italian fare such as pizza and Stromboli. The price for this station is $2.50 and is available to all students including those that qualify for the free or reduced lunch program.
The Taste Station is our hot sandwich and grill fare. The price for this station is $2.35 and available to all students including those that qualifies for the free or reduced lunch program.
The Crisp Station is where students can have our staff build sub sandwiches and wraps to order. The price for this station is $2.75 and is available to all students including those that qualify for the free or reduced lunch program.
Fresh fruit, canned fruit, hot vegetable, and milk are available daily. Students are allowed one portion of each item and they are included in the lunch price.
A La Cart items are available daily as well. They include snack items, juice, and water. Prices on these products vary. All students may purchase these items during lunch.
Breakfast is available to all students daily. Cost is $1.60Balanced Choice Program
This program highlights a healthy combination of foods for those students looking for a healthier alternative, but does not limit choices for other students. With Balanced Choice Meals, we are moving away from an emphasis on the entrée and teaching students how to put together a healthy complete meal. We will menu a Balanced Choice meal daily and it will be labeled on the menu. We also offer numerous snacks in our a la cart program that will be Balanced Choice items as well. These offerings will offer a healthier alternative to traditional snack foods.Payment Options
Parents are encouraged to prepay for their students’ lunch at least a week at a time if possible. Students are allowed to bring money with them at breakfast and lunch everyday as well. Charging is not allowed.
