On the occasions that our local weather forecasters have predicted inclement weather our “Snow Patrols” travel the rural and city bus routes in the very early hours of the morning to determine actual road conditions and suitability for safe transportation of our students.
The conditions are assessed and that information is discussed between the Superintendent and the Transportation Manager by 5:00 a.m. A decision is reached and the appropriate media is notified if there is to be a delay or a Snow Day so that parents can plan their day.
In the event it is necessary to cancel classes, a bulletin will be issued via our Instant Alert
Emergency Notification System. It is important that parents/guardians update their instant Alert accounts as necessary. If you have questions about Instant Alert, please call you student’s building secretary. Notification on school closings is also sent to the following media sources:
